WHO WE ARE and WHAT WE DO

Independent Hearts & Hammers groups are sponsored by various community organizations or church groups around the country.  The Lake Hills Hearts & Hammers group has been working in the Crossroads area for over 20 years.  It is sponsored by a group of Bellevue Crossroads community congregations joined together in social outreach  from Episcopal Church of the Resurrection, St. Louise Catholic Church, Cross of Christ Lutheran Church, Temple B’nai Torah, LDS Bellevue Stake, and the Islamic Center of the Eastside.  While this outreach is sponsored by these faith congregations, we welcome people of all faith and moral persuasions to join us in helping our neighbors in need, which part of the common bond of humanity

Hearts and Hammers is an annual one-day blitz to repair and rehabilitate the homes of those homeowners who are physically or financially unable to do so alone. There are many "Hearts & Hammers" organizations around the country, including some with variations on the name.  (In our region, Hearts & Hammers began in 1994, as a pilot project under the sponsorship of the Whidbey Island Langley United Methodist Church. Now it is an independent, non-profit program that is supported by the larger community, there. )

The Lake Hills Hearts & Hammers, as the name suggests, on the greater Lake Hills/Crossroads region of Bellevue, Washington, including the 98004, -05, -07 and -08 zip codes.  We are entirely self-funded through individual donations and support by local businesses. (Click here to go to our donation page for more information.)  We also work closely with Jubilee Reach to coordinate project work.
